A Popular Leader

Looking back at his achievements,
During a period of two decades,
He has done noble services, for the nation,
Difficult to find words to give an explanation,
Came to power with self-confidence
And determination,
Proved his ability with distinct evidence.
Among his priorities, included basic needs,
Islamic Centre, hospitals and schools,
Safe water, sewerage system and flats,
A stadium, a complex for sports,
Worthy to mention, the work of land-reclamation,
Rural developments in all fields,
Paved roads and an artificial beach,
In the past, this is an idea beyond our reach.
Major changes in foreign policy,
International relationships and diplomacy,
Today, businessmen, too are happy,
For the progress of the open-market policy.
Remarkable wisdom, in nurturing unity,
Peace and harmony in the community,
The key for all the success,
On the road to prosperity.
Not forgetting, economic boom,
To think about a recession, at the time no room.
We are grateful to our popular leader Maumoon,
His revolutionary changes, needs time to bloom.
